We were in Cragside up in Northumberland last week and the floor of the woods was scattered with various shapes, sizes and types of lichen. I’ve always been fascinated by it since I was a lad, probably due to its obvious uses in miniature worlds. I pocketed a few sprigs to take home. I’ve also been trying to teach myself photography in Manual mode – I’ve been an Auto kinda guy till now. It’s not easy. So, avid reader, you may see the likes of this popping up as I experiment – the aforementioned lichen perched on one of my ‘chimney’ mini-sculptures, photographed badly with my Olympus OM-D E-M10 II. Unintentional ‘Laputa’ here.
